Romel Pascual is the Executive Director of CicLAvia, an LA-based nonprofit organization focused on sustainability, active transportation, and community connectedness through CicLAvia open streets events in the LA region. Romel served as the Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles in the Villaraigosa administration, and served as California’s first Assistant Secretary for Environmental Justice from 2000–2004. He has a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, and an MA in City and Regional Planning from UC Berkeley. Romel was member of the Board of Directors of the LA 2028 Olympic Bid Committee, and member of the Executive Committee of the C40 Cities.
